The last week to do list:
1) Spruce up the text/UI a bit.
2) Custom registration forms.
3) More of actions and filters.
4) Better registration back end handling: csv, sorting
5) Sorting events by upcoming date in buddypress
6) Settings pages.
7) General cleanup
Inspired by Stas’s post, results of sloccount for me:
SLOC Directory SLOC-by-Language (Sorted)

501 m php=501
443 themes php=443
353 v php=353
291 c php=291

6 top_dir php=6
Totals grouped by language (dominant language first):
php: 3087 (100.00%)
No surprises that the custom posts wrapper takes up the most code!
Finally saving options. Template tags up next.
Keep it up Kunal, I’m rooting for you man!
Next status update is now up. gsoc2010.wordpress.com.
Back home — no more office!
Or, more code
This week’s not-so-much-progress Update: http://wp.me/pRnhN-7g
Progressing too slowly. The only good thing is, won’t have any office to go to from June 19th onwards — so will definitely get a boost then.
Weekly status update up.

Any news on the beta release? Thanks for the hard work

Hi — I’d hoped to get it up earlier, but Saturday seems to be the most likely date for a feature complete build.

I’m interested to see how you accomplish #5 with the current version of BP. Keep us updated!
Great work so far, Kunal!

I modify the query_posts based on the value of the select option passed in. I’ve done it in both bpcp and ep for post creation, and #5 respectively.

Are you including widgets as well? I would like to have a widget that shows “My Events” in the sidebar for logged in users and when a user goes to someone else his profile the widget will turn into “Kunalb’s Events” and shows your events. An example of how I would like to see this:

You see the widget on the side? I would like to add one that says: “My Events”
Great work once again Kunal

The current plan is to have three widgets — one for upcoming events, an event calendar (a short version of the page for events) and a list of attendees. Perhaps a ‘my events’ in the next version? I’ve added the standard My events page (along the lines of my groups).
If possible, I’ll try to add this widget in 0.1 itself, but considering the looming deadline, it might not be possible.
And thanks
.

Sounds good
There’s no rush, for now I can simply add a button in my custom navigation that points to the “My Events” page for a user.. But a “My Events” widget would be really nice to spice up the profile pages.. and show some content in the sidebar like Facebook does.. I’ll make a mockup for the widget I have in mind, and post it here

Ok here’s a mockup:

Looking forward to the beta release!

My requests would be calendar view and group events.

I agree that calendar view and group events would be great!
